"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Sick

Well, we picked up a bug finally! That ! makes it sound like I was excited, which I am. Don't get me wrong, I don't like to see my children suffer, but, it makes me feel glad that their immune systems are toughening up! I am more towards the idea that kids should get sick. I don't sanitize everything during flu season, the bleach stays in the cupboard and I don't believe in sanitizing wipes. I wash my hands often and Grace's and we follow common sense rules: i.e. don't kiss a sick person, sneeze into a tissue etc. but I believe that bodies are amazing and will take care of it themselves. That said, here are a few reasons I love having sick kids :)
1. My house gets cleaned because they sleep a lot.
2. They will actually cuddle with me.
3. They look so darn cute with their little pale faces!
Luckily we've never been SO sick where it is life and death, I don't think I'd enjoy that. The flu every once in a while is okay. No pictures, I didn't think you wanted to look at the contents of their stomachs :)
I remember a while back posting a complaint about it being 2pm and I hadn't been able to shower yet, well, today I took 4. When I woke up this morning, then the 3 times Thaddeus threw up all over me and soaked my clothes clear through! :)

got to love sick kids. Showering 4 times is lousy though.
