"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

The resident Bunny

Our neighborhood has a bunny. I don't think it belongs to anyone, it just roams the neighborhood. He likes our back yard, he sits by the shed in the shade. I tried to feed him spinach one day, fresh, and he preferred the dying weeds. Who knows!

O Jardim!

Our gigantor: Zuchinni's (4 to be exact)
The late green beans

The biggest tomato plant

CUCUMBERS! (I just ate one, mmm good)

I planted a garden this year on the side of our house. I decided since it was so small I would experiment with things I have never grown. When 2 of the 4 failed, I planted things I knew I could grow :) (if you didn't already know, carrots and green onions take about a month to sprout from seed! I didn't, and stopped watering them :)) Green beans! They are scattered in and amongst the others, we planted them way late :)

Where is Daddy's hair?

So Grace was coloring at the table while I was doing dishes and I said, "Draw a picture of you and Daddy dancing." I went over to see and she had drawn this:

When Grant got home we showed him. She told him who each person was (she is the lower left corner, he is the center right) Then he asked her where daddy's hair was and she pointed to the purple tuft on top of his head!

It's so cool because this is the first time she has actually drawn 'people', not just lines!

Grace the...

Artist (we save on paper by letting her use her brother :))

And the Reader (we actually completed the summer reading program this year and got a free book!!)

(correction, she is a listener, mom is the reader :))
