"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Fun in the Tub

Grace was taking a bath on Wednesday and has rediscovered how much fun her doll is in the tub. This is a video of what she was doing.

It is moments like these that help me not to worry that she will sit around all day wanting to poke her brother's eyes out :) Now, drowning him in the bathtub is obviously something I'll need to watch out for :)

No baby as of yet. I have come to the calm conclusion though that he is never coming out, and I am okay with that. I think I'll be pregnant for the rest of my life with him, and it is all right :) I was having a very tough time last week. I was in a lot of pain and wanted him HERE, yesterday! But, prayer works and I am feeling a lot better. I have come down with something though and have been trying to cough up my lungs for the past few days. Rather funny, it brings on contractions! Not real ones though that would send me to labor and delivery! :(

One last thing. This wasn't in the original post but after we put Grace to bed, this is what we heard. It certainly isn't the first time, but it lasted probably 15 minutes. The same words and jibberish over and over again! And yes, she is saying 'potty'. And no she isn't referring to the toilet :) It's her word for when she has no word, if that makes sense? (Sorry it is dark, I'm standing outside her bedroom door as to not interrupt her)

My Sister

My sister got a website for valentines day. Her husband is a computer guy, and really good at it. Don't judge the site by it's cover though, it is a work in progress. It is just a fun site with 102 uses for baby wipes (only one right now) and tips for parents and funny kid stuff. Go and visit her and if you have any suggestions you can comment on my blog and I'll send them to her, maybe she'll post it!! Here is the site: http://102uses.com/.
Nothing to post on the baby end, just waiting for him to come. I've had a few more contractions but nothing constant and definitely not painful :(
Oh, I guess I could tell you what Grant did for me for valentines day. I think only women who are pregnant right now can truly feel how sweet this was. On Friday I told Grant I wanted some ice cream from Dairy Queen. He kindly talked me out of it telling me I didn't need it. Well, I get a call from him at 9:30pm saying he is at Dairy Queen and wants to know what I want. He got off work earlier than usual and went and got us blizzards and french fries!!! (I could eat ice cream and french fries every day if it was cheap and good for me) So, my dear sweet husband gave into my cravings for valentines day! Plus he cleaned the kitchen while I was gone on Saturday, which made me very very happy!
This picture is of Grace. She helped me make biscuits the other night and she was so proud of the ones she 'squished'. We watched them cook and she kept referring to me and her and 'squishing' SO CUTE!!! (I hope you can tell the difference between mine and hers :))

Six things that make me happy:

1. Grace, when she tries to attack my cheek like a kiss but really she just leaves her mouth open and presses it as hard as she can against my cheek.
2. When Grant comes home from work and his face is cold and he kisses me.
3. Cuddling with Grace after her bath, praying she doesn't go to the bathroom on her towel and me :)
4. A clean kitchen.
5. Anything my Mom makes from scratch. (the key words 'she makes')
6. When Grant cuddles with me at night and tries to feel this little guy kicking, and even better, his face when he gets kicked really good!

I tag Kendra, Mary, Heidi, Marilou, Nicole, and Joy.

PIE!!!

I just wanted to let you all know that I am not slacking because of my pregnancy! :) A sweet, sweet sister I visit teach gave me 4 beautiful lemons from her daughters lemon tree ( I can't remember if she lives in California or Arizona?) Anyway, I decided that they needed to be turned into something wonderful, so, I pulled out all my cookbooks and found a recipe for lemon meringue pie. We cut into it before it cooled completely so some of it 'weeped', if you know what that means? but, it tasted very, very good! And it didn't look too shabby either :)

My ever changing daughter has begun a new phase, at least this one is cute though :) She thinks she needs to wear our shoes, and as you can see from the picture, my Portuguese 'bata' as well! The funny thing is the necklace on her arm like it's a purse! (I don't use a purse so she really is a girl I guess!)

This is Grace wearing my old camp stuff. I almost just tossed everything but my mom made me keep it as a 'dress-up' box and now she is using it! That headband is from the year we had an Indian theme, she thinks it is pretty cool :)

Last thing, the baby is great. I think I will name him Goliath because he feels huge! He can't even breathe without me feeling it! I think I have dropped though, I can't be sure because I see my belly all day every day so come Saturday when I see my mom she will confirm and I'll let you all know :) They didn't check me at my last appointment so I don't know if I am effaced or dilated but I have had a lot of braxton hicks contractions and a few real ones so it could be any day, it could be 3 weeks! Don't you wish all pregnancies were the same so you knew exactly what to expect?
