"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Grace's First Adventure in Climbing!

I hope you can all forgive me for torturing my daughter so but it was hilarious! We got out our file box to find something and Grace starting playing on it. She started climbing on it with my help but then I had to go upstairs. Well, not two or three seconds later she starts crying. I thought she was just whining because I had left or her dad wouldn't share his food (he was in the kitchen around the corner) Well, I finally finished what I was doing, came downstairs and this is what I found! I hope you find it funny instead of cruel :)

Bread

I got the pictures loaded, and yes, it tastes as good as it looks! These pictures are of a double batch, usually I just make this recipe. I have told a few of you about this bread, it is delicious! So, here is the recipe:

Dissolve 1 TB yeast in 2 cups warm water/milk (whatever mixture you want, I use 1 cup of each)

Combine in a seperate bowl 1/4 c soft butter, 1/8 c molasses, 1/8 c honey and 1 tsp salt.
Add yeast mixture and mix. Add 3 c wheat flour and blend for about 2-3 minutes. Add 1 cup and enough to make it so you can take the dough out of the bowl and put it on the counter to knead, not too much though! Knead adding flour as needed to make a soft but not sticky dough (8-10 minutes) Makes 2 medium loaves (8x4 loaf pans) Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Depending on your oven, you will probably need to check at 30 minutes. I have never baked it for the full 40.

Don't forget to check out the new pictures below!

Update at last

We were camping last week, and this week I was at the PTE summer conference so I haven't had a lot of time, but here is part of it at last. I tried to upload more pictures but there was an error or something. I shall try again later!

These are the flowers Grant got me for our Anniversary. He surprised me and came home from work early with this bouquet! We finally got to go out on a date on June 7! We went to the movie Prince Caspian, the second of the Narnia chronicles-way good!

This is Grace sitting on a rock in the river. They flooded the river a few weeks ago and just so you have a little perspective, Grace would've been completely submerged if she had been on the rock when the river was flooded, not kidding!

We went to the zoo with my mom's school along with my Sister-in-law and niece. Here they are, our little baby birds! I think they paid more attention to eachother than to the animals!

This is Grace after the zoo, she was trying not to fall asleep, holding onto her tray, but finally she succumbed!

During the flooding of the river there was a rain storm and our sewer pipe backed up (I think, it was the man hole out front) and our section of the street flooded. It was rather funny. They had it all cleaned up by the time Grant got home from work that night though :(

Ahhh Summer?

Well, it is supposed to be summer, but all we've been getting is rain and wind. But, we like it because we haven't had to turn on heat or cooling! Makes for a low power bill!
Bike riding is going well, except when the weather is bad, I've made Grant drive to work a couple nights when it was stormy with lightning (I'd rather have a living husband than a lower gas bill, maybe I'm weird, who knows :))
Grant has signed up for a Triathlon in Emmett this summer. It is just a sprint one, half of a normal. He and his friend from the mission and work are training for it. Let us know if you have any advice as I know a lot of you run and even run triathlons (Nicole and Paul!)
I will post pictures later, I just wanted to get an update up. I have been a little busy. Grace is still growing. She has learned how to go down the stairs backwards, it makes me feel a lot better about her being on the stairs. She has also learned that when she says Hi, people say it back so she will come up to you and say 'hi' in her cute little baby airy voice, or she'll hug you and say it, it is pretty irresistible!
