"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Jealous

This is my husband. Wonderful, kind, takes out the trash, does the dishes sometimes without being asked, takes my kids from me just before I hit that point of complete and utter frustration :) And I am so jealous of him!! I don't know if this is a woman vs. man thing or just a Grant and me thing. I say I am going to take a shower and 20 minutes later I am in the shower. Along the way I had to clean up the toys, wash something, fold some laundry and clean the tub. He says he is going to take a shower and before you can blink, he's in the shower.
I say I am going to bed, 1/2 an hour later after a repeat routine of getting in the shower I am laying there thinking, "did I turn off the stove?" I get up, back in bed, "did I lock the doors?" get up, back in bed, "are the kids still alive, did someone steal them?" get up, back in bed and it goes on and on. He on the other hand says, "I'm going to bed" He brushes his teeth and he's in bed, usually asleep too.
Is it my multi-tasking gene that is my doom? Men only do one thing at a time so when they say something they actually go and do THAT thing?

This post of yours just cracked me right up! I hear you! I think I'm kinda jealous of it too. It makes Nate crazy when he thinks we're both headed to bed and next thing you know i'm picking up a few things i saw along the way or what not. It REALLY drives him crazy when we're trying to get out the door! lol
